Ruba Omeira

Background:

I was born and raised in sunny California. I relocated to the DMV during college and attended George Mason University for my undergraduate studies. Later, I pursued my MPH at George Washington University. After taking a break to focus on raising my family, I resumed my academic journey, returning to complete my premedical studies through Georgetown University's Post-Baccalaureate Premed program. This paved the way to med school, where I graduated from Georgetown.

Outside Interests and Hobbies:

I cherish moments with family and friends, love cozy books, and find audiobooks essential for my long commutes. I also enjoy playing volleyball, board games, and the satisfaction of growing my own veggies (and harvesting them before the pesky deer do!). I also look forward to a quirky tradition of making cheesy Thanksgiving t-shirts for my family at our annual reunion!

Interests within Emergency Medicine:

Global Health, Social/Refugee Health, Climate and Planetary Health, and Medical Education
