By Car

From Northwest Washington

Take Wisconsin Ave. south to Reservoir Rd. Turn right.

From Southeast Washington

Take Pennsylvania Ave. west to Independence Ave. Bear left. Take Independence to 12th St. NW, and turn right. Take 12th St. to K St. and turn left. Follow K St. to Whitehurst Freeway. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right at Reservoir Rd.

From Northeast Washington

Take Rhode Island Ave. west until it feeds into M St. Take M St. to Wisconsin Ave. Turn right onto Wisconsin Ave. Take Wisconsin Ave. to Reservoir Rd. and turn left.

From Maryland

From I-270

Take I-270 south toward Washington. Exit Rte. 355 Wisconsin Ave. south. Take Wisconsin Ave. south to Reservoir Rd. Turn right.

From I-95

Take I-95 south to I-495 west to Silver Spring. Exit Rte. 355 Wisconsin Ave. south to Washington. Take Wisconsin Ave. south to Reservoir Rd. Turn right.

From Baltimore-Washington Parkway or Rte. 50 westbound

Take B-W Parkway or Rte. 50 west to New York Ave. Take New York Ave. to L St. Bear right. Turn left on 10th St. NW and then right on K St. Follow K St. to Whitehurst Freeway. Turn left onto Canal Road. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right at Reservoir Rd.

From Northern Virginia

From I-66

Take I-66 East to the Rosslyn-Key Bridge exit. Stay in left lane and then make the third left onto Lynn St. and follow it over Key Bridge. Stay in left lane across Key Bridge. Turn left onto Canal Road. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right onto Reservoir Rd.

From I-395

Take I-395 North. Exit Washington Blvd. to Rosslyn. Take Washington Blvd. and follow signs to Rosslyn and Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right at Reservoir Rd.

From Rte. 50 eastbound

Follow Rte. 50 east and take Rosslyn-Key Bridge exit. Follow signs to Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge and turn left onto Canal Road. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right at Reservoir Rd.

From George Washington Parkway

Take the G-W Parkway south. Exit Key Bridge. Cross bridge and turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right onto Foxhall Rd. Turn right at Reservoir Rd.

Washington Hospital Center is on a 47-acre medical campus in Northwest Washington directly across North Capital Street from Catholic University. Our campus includes Children’s National Medical Center, National Rehabilitation Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. The hospital is easily accessible from all areas in the city and surrounding counties.

By Air

Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) is 15 minutes from WHC by taxi.

Dulles International Airport (IAD)) is located 45 minutes away by taxi.

Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is located near Baltimore and is about an hour away.

By Train

Amtrak services Washington’s Union Station is located about 5 minutes away from WHC by taxi.

By Car

From Northern Virginia via the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge

From Route 50 and I-66. Cross over the Roosevelt Bridge – it becomes Constitution Avenue. Stay on Constitution Avenue, passing the Washington Monument and White House, and turn left on to 7th Street. Continue on 7th Street crossing over Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Florida Avenues. 7th Street becomes Georgia Avenue. Continue on Georgia Avenue and turn right on to Irving Street. Follow Irving Street, as it bears to the left. National Rehabilitation Hospital will be on your right. Turn right at the First Street Entrance onto the Washington Hospital Center Campus. At first stop sign turn right. Follow signs to Washington Hospital Center Parking Pavilion I or Parking Pavilion II.

From Baltimore via I-95

Take I-95 South to I-495 West (Capital Beltway) towards Silver Spring. Take first exit, New Hampshire Avenue South. Follow New Hampshire Avenue into Washington, DC until it ends at North Capitol Street. Turn left onto North Capitol Street, and follow North Capitol Street south and exit at the Irving Street West exit. Turn left at the first stoplight onto the Washington Hospital Center campus. At first stop sign turn right. Follow signs to Washington Hospital Center Parking Pavilion I or Parking Pavilion II.

Parking

Two main parking garages are available to guests. Parking Pavilion I is located nearest to the main entrance to the hospital. Parking Pavilion II is located nearest to the Physician’s Office Building. Parking tickets will be validated for residency-related business.

By Metro or Bus

If you are taking the Metro to Washington Hospital Center, exit at the Brookland/CUA stop on the RED line. There is a free shuttle to Washington Hospital Center, which operates approximately every 10 minutes during normal business hours and every 20 minutes during evening hours. Exit the station to the right and take the H2 (Van Ness) or H4 (Tenleytown) bus to Washington Hospital Center. One of these two buses leaves every 10 minutes. The fare from the metro station is $1.20. With a transfer pass the fare is 40 cents to the hospital.
